Èlg – ZWARTE VIJVERS: out now on NEXT Festival Records
We are very excited to announce our new cassette release by Èlg!
French song debris meets music concrete: ZWARTE VIJVERS was recorded at NEXT Festival in Bratislava. The album consists of two tracks that show Èlg’s excellent capacity to blend songs, improvisation and music concrete in one sonic cocktail which can be digested either as a cassette or digital. The choice is yours.
Since 2004, Laurent Gérard also known as Èlg, has drawn concentric sound spirals made of musical pipes and entrails. He uses an arsenal of instruments and methods, constantly renewed and builds improbable bridges between concrete music and french song debris. The motifs and the contours of the sound reinvent themselves constantly like a living organism.
His albums have been released by labels such as Kraak, Lexi Disques, Hundebiss Records, etc. His performance at NEXT 2018 still belongs to one of our favorites.
